"We're Only on Earth for a Little While, So Live Life to the Fullest and Carry a Smile"A1C Elizabeth N. Jacobson

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest A1C Elizabeth N. Jacobson who was born in Orlando, Florida to David and Marianne Jacobson, March 26, 1984 and was KIA Safwan, Iraq while serving her Country on September 28, 2005. You will live forever in our memories and hearts.

Elizabeth lived in California with her parents for many years, and used to come back and forth to visit her Gram Sondra and Grandpa Cos.  Finally, one day in 2001 Elizabeth decided that she wanted to live in Florida and kissed her father goodbye and headed for her grandparent's home.

She moved in with them, but couldn't decide what she was going to do with her life after high-school.  After confering with her parents and grandparents, she decided to join the Air Force and become a Security Force Member (AFSF), and to serve her Country, thus giving exceptional meaning to her life.

After basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Elizabeth was assigned to Goodfellow Air Force Base in San Angelo, Texas, where she was deployed to Iraq.  She served her Country well and was stationed at Camp Bucca, but that wasn't enough for her.  Although she kept everyone's spirits up with her bright smile, great attitude, and work ethics, she kept asking her superiors to let her go on a convoy.  Finally they relented, and on her first trip out, her Humvee was blown-up by an IED and Elizabeth and her co-hort Army Sgt. Steve Morin were killed.

As the first female in the Air Force Security Forces to lose her life in action, many honors have been bestowed upon her, including, renaming of the Goodfellow Gate to Jacobson Gate, a Training Facility with numerous momentos in the library has been named the Jacobson Training Facility at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, and Elizabeth also has a place of honor at the Musuem on the Base. The prestigious A1C Elizabeth N. Jacobson Expedtionary Award is given out each May to a deserving Airman.

Upon her demise, she was brought back to the States and is laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in a place of honor under the Flags, in Pompano Beach, Florida.  More of Elizabeth can be seen on her website: www.airmanjacobson.com.
